By 1940, Cesar Chavez had been widened as far west as Harrison.
Newscopy in March 1940 reads: "The motorist moves nicely along widened Army Street until he reaches Harrison. Then Army narrows into an alley-like street, says Mr. Fixit, who hopes the city soon may have the money to finish the widening."
